Hey!

Intro

I would like to define myself as a curious and analytical person. My constant desire to learn led me from Civil Engineering to Financial Markets and to Statistical Analysis.

For as long as I remember, I've been curious to know what moves our world. As a child, I remember buiding small wooden models of bridges and being fascinated by the shear size of our cities. That curiosity led me to take a MSc in Civil Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), with a specialization in Urban Planning, Transports Infracture and Systems Engineering.

During my late teens, I also started to take interest in Economics and Financial Markets. Since then, I´ve been working between the worlds of Finance and Real Estate Economics.

In 2018, I realized the possibilities of Data Science to take my expertise to a new level, so I took a Postgraduate Degree in Enterprise Data Science & Analytics from NOVA Information Management School.

In the same year, I've Co-founded Alfredo Real Estate Analytics, a proptech startup based in my home city of Lisbon, Portugal.

I currently develop reasearch in Spatial Econometrics and Real Estate markets.

Work

I started my carrer working in Financial Markets at an investment bank, for nearly 3 years. Being part of one of the largest european banks, I had the possibility to experience contact with some of the largest financial insituitions and to have on-the-job education on the basics of investment finance and client relationship management.

The skills I've acquired proved to be crucial for my next challenge. During the summer of 2018, I've Co-founded Alfredo Real Estate Analytics , a portuguese startup bringing Artificial Inteligence to the Real Estate market. In its first two years we had the opportunity to work with some of the largest financial institutions and real estate groups in the country, as well as with the Portuguese Government by creating the first european observatory for student housing.

Currently, I'm a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering and Researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) - University of Lisbon - in the fields of Spatial Econometrics and Risk Assessment.
